Hi there! We get this one a lot and have some great news. This one is totally normal!
What’s going on with your dog?
Dogs eat grass for a multitude of reasons. Most of the time it is not a sign of any illness. No, not even an upset stomach. Only a small percentage of dogs show any illness at all before eating grass so if your pup vomited after eating grass don’t read too much into it.
If grass snacking is the only issue you are seeing, don’t worry. Your pup is normal. If eating grass is accompanied by other signs that they are sick, that’s when Scout is here to help!
Here’s what you can do at home...
Is it good for your dog to eat large amounts of grass?
No way! Grass can contain parasite eggs, pesticides and herbicides which all are not great for your pup.
It’s always a good idea to take treats or other rewarding items on walks to distract your dog from eating too much grass or really ANYTHING they shouldn’t out on a stroll.
Does your pet need Urgent Care?
Not today! Save yourself the stress and the trip. If your pet continues to eat grass and has other symptoms (vomiting, diarrhea), then come on in.
